The Steam Room
Mosaic tiles fading from navy to white, benches lit from beneath
At a glance
The steam room at Navitas Spa, Hilton Istanbul Airport, is a mosaic-tiled chamber — navy tiles fading into white — with benches lit from beneath and humid warmth around 40–45 °C. It opens the skin and airways before a hammam scrub or a massage and sits directly beside the hammam and the experience showers. It is in service every day from 07:00 to 22:00.
The space
Small, dim and enveloping. Thousands of glass mosaic tiles run from deep navy at the ceiling to white at the benches, with a line of light under the seat. The steam is dense and warm rather than hot; ten minutes here softens the skin for the kese, clears the head after a flight and makes the following massage easier.
Steam or sauna?
Steam is humid and gentler on the body; sauna is dry and hotter. Choose steam before a scrub and when your sinuses are blocked after flying; choose sauna before a deep massage or after a swim. Many guests do both, with a cool shower between.
