At a glance
For a spa visit during a layover at Istanbul Airport, add together: the walk to Hilton Istanbul Airport (a few minutes each way), passport control if in international transit (30–45 minutes at peak), 10 minutes to check in and change, the treatment, 10–15 minutes to shower and dress, and your airline's security buffer (typically 2 hours for international departures). A 50-minute massage therefore needs a connection of about four hours.

The formula
Connection time − passport control − walk (both ways) − security buffer − 25 minutes of changing and showering = time for a treatment. With a 4-hour connection, 40 minutes of passport control, 15 minutes of walking and a 2-hour buffer, that leaves about 40 minutes — a Focused Care ritual comfortably, a 50-minute massage only if passport control is quick.
Buffers we suggest

| Passport control (international transit) | 30–45 min |
| Spa check-in and changing | 10 min |
| Shower and dressing | 10–15 min |
| Security before an international departure | 120 min |
| Security before a domestic departure with hand luggage | 60–90 min |
Use the planner
The layover planner on this site takes your time until departure and your security buffer and lists the rituals that fit. It is an estimate; the airline's rules always win.
Frequently asked questions
Can I skip the security buffer if I have no checked bags?
Follow your airline's minimum times; many allow shorter for hand-luggage-only domestic flights, rarely for international ones.
