Private rituals by appointment — your first hammam, done gently
At a glance
Solo travellers at Navitas Spa, Hilton Istanbul Airport, are treated by appointment with their own attendant or therapist, can request a male or female therapist when booking, and are given a pestemal, towels and a locker for hand luggage. The 45-minute scrub and foam ritual or a 50-minute Swedish massage are the gentlest introductions.
Comfortable on your own
A first Turkish bath alone can feel like a leap. It need not: every ritual is by appointment, you are with one attendant from the moment you enter the hammam, you wear a pestemal (and swimwear beneath it if you like), and nothing is required of you but to lie on the warm marble.
