Swedish Massage
The classic full-body massage: long strokes, kneading and a calm rhythm
At a glance
The Swedish Massage at Navitas Spa, Hilton Istanbul Airport, is a classic full-body massage using long gliding strokes, kneading and gentle stretching to improve circulation, ease muscle tension and calm the nervous system. It is available in 50 minutes and 90 minutes and suits first-time spa guests and anyone who wants to relax rather than be worked deeply.
What it is
Swedish massage is the foundation of Western massage: effleurage (long gliding strokes towards the heart), petrissage (kneading), friction on tight spots and gentle rhythmic tapping, all with a light oil. The pressure is light to medium and the pace is even — designed to move blood and lymph, lower muscle tone and let the breath slow down.
It is the massage to choose when you do not want to think about the massage: no heat, no scent, no deep work unless you ask for it.
At the airport
Fifty minutes is a complete session — enough for the whole body with extra minutes on the shoulders or lower back. Ninety minutes suits hotel guests and long layovers, when the therapist can work slowly through everything and you can rest on the heated loungers afterwards.

Frequently asked questions
Is the Swedish massage firm?
Light to medium by default. Ask for firmer pressure and your therapist will adapt — or choose deep tissue if you want consistently strong work.
Do I have to undress completely?
You undress to your comfort level and are covered with towels throughout; only the area being worked on is uncovered.
Can I have it before a flight?
Yes — it does not leave you heavy or oily. Allow ten minutes afterwards to shower and change.
