Balinese Massage

The therapists' own tradition: acupressure, stretches and long strokes

50 min90 min

At a glance

The Balinese Massage at Navitas Spa, Hilton Istanbul Airport, blends acupressure, gentle stretching, kneading and long strokes with botanical oils to balance energy and release deep muscle tension. It is the tradition Navitas therapists train in with senior instructors from Bali. It is available in 50 and 90 minutes — ask us on WhatsApp for the current price — and it is also part of the Diamond Package and the Member Series.

What it is

Balinese massage grew out of Indonesian folk healing and Ayurvedic and Chinese influences. It works with the palms, thumbs and forearms: pressure on specific points along the energy lines, long strokes to move blood and lymph, kneading of the larger muscles and gentle assisted stretches that open the hips and shoulders.

The pressure is medium to firm and the pace is deliberate. Most guests describe it as thorough — the massage that finds the places they did not know were tight.

Why it is our signature

Navitas therapists train with senior instructors from Bali and follow continuous technical development across all centres. The Balinese massage is the style they know best, which is why it anchors the Diamond Package and why local members choose it most in the Member Series.

Frequently asked questions

How firm is Balinese massage?

Medium to firm. Ask for lighter work at any point; the therapist will adapt.

Is it different from Thai massage?

Yes — Balinese uses oil and is performed on a bed with the body relaxed; Thai massage is done clothed on a mat with more vigorous stretching.

Why is it a little more expensive?

It is our most technically demanding massage and the longest to train for. Members can buy it in 10- and 20-session packs at a lower per-session price.
