The third and innermost room of the classical hamam: domed, marble, warm and humid, with the göbek taşı at its centre and kurnas around the walls. Small openings in the dome — the “elephant eyes” of old baths — let in light. The sıcaklık is warm rather than hot, around 40 °C; you can stay comfortably for the whole ritual, unlike in a sauna.
