The raised marble slab in the middle of the sıcaklık, heated from beneath, on which you lie to warm up and on which the scrub and foam are performed. The name means “belly stone” — the navel of the room. Ours at Hilton Istanbul Airport is white marble under a lit ceiling; lying on it for ten minutes is the first stage of every hammam ritual.
Tip: lie on your back first, then your front, so the heat reaches everything evenly.
